Project Overview

Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) is one of the largest integrated zinc-lead-silver mining and metallurgical companies in India. To improve its web presence, HZL sought to redesign its website to better cover a diverse business profile comprising investor relations, organizational reach, and a message of the company’s contribution to society and the industry.

Challenges

  • Professional Aesthetic: Most importantly both professional working attire with high aesthetic value had to be worn because HZL’s brand had to be represented in the best way possible.
  • Dynamic Content Integration: The challenge of delivering actualization and modernization without symbol cluttering or overloading the home page was a demanding one.
  • Performance Issues: The website had to be loaded quickly in terms of functionality despite a large focus on content, thus optimality was a key consideration for its design.
  • Future Scalability: A huge component of building for the future was the ability to expand this platform in the future and add new features and updates.

Solutions

  • Engaging Landing Page: In implementing the first design, the usability of the website design explained that visually appealing images were created to attract the interest of the user and to direct their attention to the main areas of the website. It was highly appropriate for mobile users when the company followed it.
  • Aesthetic Information Display: It was noted that information was presented in a very graphical way providing a clear, sharp, and easy-to-follow design. Interactivity was added continuously without overloading the user, which made it easy for the information to flow.
  • Custom CMS Development: A dedicated Content Management System (CMS) was developed for the website and more power to the non-IT persons to edit the content. This was a feature we liked that made it easy for us to manage the articles and ensure the site was up to date.
  • Mobile Responsiveness and Categorization: Mobile responsiveness was implemented, and the page was divided into categories to ease the user Interface system. This structure assisted users to easily search their way through huge amounts of information.
  • Performance Optimization: There was good use of optimization like image compression reduced site size, and asynchronous script loading, which contributed to fast site loading despite large content.

Results and Benefits

  • Increased Page Views: The outcome of the launched website indicated that avg. page view per page had risen by 43% within the first 4.5 months.
  • Longer Visit Durations: Average session duration was also boosted by 35% to suggest increased engagement from users.
  • Reduced Bounce Rate: There were now 28% fewer bounce rates, which indicated that the user was more likely to spend time visiting two and three pages and so on.
  • Enhanced Mobile Accessibility: Mobile traffic increased by 51% which is good evidence of the responsive design of the site.
  • Positive Stakeholder Feedback: According to surveys, 84% of stakeholders acknowledged a positive shift in the understanding of the company after the revamp.

Conclusion

Hindustan Zinc Limited’s website redesign helped overcome the issues of professionalism and, at the same time, properly stylish website presentation. Through understanding its users, incorporating content correctly, and maximizing performance, HZL has ensured that it is capable of being an engaging site in the future. This project not only helped in developing the company’s web presence but also was an opportunity to show the relevance of proper web management in maintaining communication with stakeholders and the community.
